The Browns are facing the possibility that 26-year-old quarterback Deshaun Watson could be suspended under the NFL’s personal conduct policy over a sexual assault case, so Cleveland needs to be prepared.
The Browns are reportedly ready to push Brissett, who was originally slated to be Watson’s backup, into the starting quarterback role if the former Houston Texans quarterback is suspended, before ESPN’s Adam Schefter confirmed that Cleveland has signed Rosen to a one-year deal to compete for the backup quarterback job.
Rosen, 25, entered the league as the 10th overall pick in the 2018 draft by the Arizona Cardinals before moving on to several franchises, including the Miami Dolphins, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, San Francisco 49ers and Atlanta Falcons, before signing with the Browns.
