The Arizona Cardinals have agreed to a four-year, $76 million extension with tight end Trey McBride, with $43 million guaranteed, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports. kindee1688
The deal makes McBride the league’s highest-paid tight end at $19 million per year, surpassing Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who is on $17.125 million per year, after the 25-year-old made his first Pro Bowl appearance in the 2024 season.
The deal will keep McBride in Arizona through the 2029 season, with Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray posting on the X account, “Worth every penny!” to which the 25-year-old replied, “Gonna be special.”
The former second-round draft pick in the 2022 class has the fourth-most receptions among tight ends, catching 221 passes for 2,236 yards over the past three seasons. Only Kelce (300), Evan Engram (234) and T.J. Hockenson (222) have caught more in the same period.
While Kelsey (3,145 yards), George Kittle (2,891 yards) and Hockenson (2,329 yards) are the only three wide receivers to have more receiving yards than McBride over the past three years. ( kindee1688 )
