Nix, the No. 12 overall pick in the 2024 draft, was a rookie who established himself as the Broncos’ quarterback of the future last season, helping the Wildcats make their first playoff appearance in eight years and was one reason why Engram decided to sign a two-year deal with the Broncos this offseason. 

“He’s got everything it takes to be a great player in this league,” Engram said of Nix. “The thing that stands out to me the most is how he stays in the zone. He’s so calm and focused. When the zone breaks down, the plays he can make quickly while looking forward are things you have to have the talented players around you continue to make because that’s a weapon. That’s a real weapon.”

Nix threw for 3,775 yards, 29 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions. He gradually got used to throwing the long ball throughout his freshman year, and he also caused damage to opponents with his legs, rushing for 430 yards and four scores.

What Nix lacks is a reliable wide receiver, as the Broncos don’t have a 20- or 200-yard wide receiver, with Lucas Crull just eighth in receptions. 

“That was really the first time he was really recruited out of high school. You know us football players, recruiting is a big deal because there are teams, organizations, franchises, institutions that ask you to bring your talent to that place. That means a lot to me,” Ingram said.

The 30-year-old winger also talked about his conversation with Broncos head coach Sean Payton, saying, “Sitting down with Sean, I felt like it was right. Everything just clicked. Everything felt like this was the place for me.”

‘His vision for the role was the Joker. I love superhero stories, supervillains. I love superhero stories. I love creating those stories to put some pressure on myself. That’s something I’m going to embrace wholeheartedly. Whatever I’m asked to do, I’m going to do it to the best of my ability.’  ( kindee1688 )
