kindee1688 The Arizona Cardinals have won the race to sign veteran safety D.J. Sweringer after he was cut from the Washington Redskins for being rude to their head coach.
NFL Network reports that after Sweringer went on a radio show to criticize defensive coordinator Greg Manaskey over the team’s Week 16 game plan in a 16-25 loss to the Tennessee Titans, kindee1688
The 27-year-old defender said the team is not trying to put pressure on backup quarterback Blaine Gabbert, who was brought in to replace the injured Marcus Mariota.
The story got so big that head coach Jay Gruden called the tough safety into his office and dropped him during the week.
The Cardinals, the worst performing team in the league at 3-12, were recently given the chance to help, beating out the Kansas City Chiefs (11-4) who are in the playoff race, with the rules that teams with the worst performances get the chance first.
