The Philadelphia 76ers got 22 points from Tobias Harris and 19 from Joel Embiid in a 122-94 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, ESPN reported.  ( kindee1688 ) ( kindee1688 )

The Sixers pulled away 60-36 in the first half, with six players scoring in double figures — Harris, Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, Seth Curry, Matthysse Thybull and Shake Milton — in their first meeting with the Hawks since last season’s Eastern Conference playoffs.

Harris had 22 points and 11 rebounds, Embiid had 19 points and five rebounds, while Maxey and Curry had 16 and 15 points, respectively. Reserves Thybulle and Milton each scored 11 points. 

“When we go out there like we did last season, this is a good test for us early in the season to see where we’re at,” Harris said. “Obviously, this game is more than just a regular-season game.”

Head coach Doc Rivers said after the game, “We kept the ball moving and the key was ball movement and eventually the scoring. When we did that, we played a pretty good offensive game.”

Before Rivers gave an update on suspended guard Ben Simmons, he said: “I’m staying out of it. I really do. My job is to teach the guys who are here and believe that the guys who are here will play for us someday. That’s all I have to believe as a coach. I try not to be involved in the mess as a coach.” 

The Sixers head coach also revealed that he has been in regular contact with Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, who represents Simmons, but Rivers described those conversations as more personal than anything involving the 25-year-old guard. 

Meanwhile, reserve forward Cam Reddish led the Hawks in scoring after coming on with 16 points, while Trae Young had just 13 points and 10 assists, Bogdan Bogdanovic had 13 points and Clint Capela had 11 points and 12 rebounds. 

The Hawks shot just 37.9 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from three-point range, compared to the Sixers, who shot 53.5 percent but were down 31.6 percent from three-point range.
