kindee1688 Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is set to hit the free-agent market in March and has no plans to retire from the NFL.
DeAndre Hopkins, 32, has responded to rumors that he is calling it quits after the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, saying he is open to continuing his career in 2025, NFL Network reports. kindee1688
“I don’t know what you heard, but I’m not done yet,” Hopkins said in a post that has since been deleted.
Hopkins, the current NFL leader in receiving yards with 12,965, intends to play through the 2025 season, but it remains to be seen which team he will end up with.
The Chiefs traded Hopkins from the Tennessee Titans midway through last season. He caught 41 passes for 437 yards and four touchdowns in 10 games during the regular season, but the 32-year-old wide receiver’s performance dipped in the postseason. He caught no passes in the divisional playoffs and had just one catch for 11 yards in the AFC Championship Game.
Hopkins failed to catch a pass in the first half of Super Bowl 59, although he did score a touchdown in the second half, as the Eagles were ahead. He finished the game with two catches for 18 yards.
“It’s a loss,” Hopkins said after the loss to the Eagles. “I feel the same way after every loss, but obviously this one was a little bit more meaningful. The Super Bowl. I felt bad.”
Hopkins is reportedly set to return to Houston after playing for the Texans from 2013-2019, where he finished second in receiving 632 times, 8,602 yards and 54 touchdowns, behind only Andre Johnson. ( kindee1688 )
