The Celtics were originally scheduled to honor Pierce by retiring his No. 34 jersey from the TD Garden on Feb. 11 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.  ( kindee1688 )

At the same time, before tip-off, there will be a video tribute to Thomas, a former fan favorite point guard who was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the off-season in a swap with Kyrie Irving. 

However, the owner of the nickname ‘The Truth’ expressed his desire to not share the spotlight that night with any other players.
