“If I have to play today, I can do it,” Prescott said. “I have to move forward with good health to make sure I can play 17, 20 (games) or whatever when the time is right.”

Prescott is recovering from a partial hamstring tear he suffered in Week 9 of last season, and the Cowboys went 4-5 the rest of the season and missed the playoffs for the first time in four years.

Prescott didn’t give a timeline for his recovery in early March, but now the 31-year-old quarterback has revealed he will participate in team activities in some form.

“I’m close to where I want to be. I don’t want to give a percentage,” Prescott said. “I know we have team activities coming up. Imagine being involved in some of them, if not all of them.”

‘But I understand my age, what I’ve been through, it’s about doing my best in the fall. I’m not rushing anything, but I’m where I want to be.’

Prescott is entering his 10th professional season and the second time the 31-year-old quarterback has had to prepare for a new season since suffering a serious injury earlier in the season.

‘It’s just the effort I put in. Unfortunately, I’ve been through the recovery process from injuries before, so I just accept that. I know there’s a better version of me on the other side, so that’s just how I approach the off-season and all this recovery.’ ( kindee1688 )
