The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to a deal with 35-year-old nose tackle John Jenkins to address their need for a tall shortstop, ESPN reports.( kindee1688 )
The Ravens, who had the NFL’s top-ranked defense last season, were in need of a big man to fill the middle of the line after Michael Pierce retired in March and ended up signing veteran Jenkins.
Jenkins, 6-foot-3, 327 pounds, has played for the Las Vegas Raiders the past two seasons, setting a career-high 61 tackles in 2023, followed by 46 tackles last season.
Even at 35, Jenkins has proven his toughness, playing 45 straight games, but he’ll likely play less when swapped with Travis Jones.
During his 12-season career with the New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Bears, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and Raiders, he combined for 319 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks.
