Kodma168 Tee Higgins insists he loves the Bengals and wants to stay in Cincinnati, but he can’t control everything.
Tee Higgins, 25, is set to hit the free agent market in March unless he and the Cincinnati Bengals can reach a new deal to keep him in the Queen City, NFL Network reports. Kodma168
When asked about his decision-making process on whether he would be able to stay in the city he calls home for the first five years of his NFL career, Higgins admitted he knew what he wanted to do, but the decision wasn’t entirely up to him.
‘Yeah, obviously we all want to keep the core pieces, even with Mike Gesicki, that’s a core piece as well, so obviously we want to build something here in Cincinnati,’ Higgins said. ‘But you know, right now it’s not up to me, so I’ve got to do what I’ve got to do and if I have to go to another team, that’s what’s going to happen. ‘
‘Obviously I want to be here in Cincinnati. I love it here. I love the city. I love the fans. I love the coaching staff. Everything about this stadium. But I can’t control it.’
Bengals director of player personnel Duke Tobin said they will do what they can with the limited salary cap space and financial commitments to other players, but admitted they can’t have the highest-paid player at every position. ( Kodma168 )
