traded Okafor from the Philadelphia 76ers in early December, but the 22-year-old center played just 23 minutes against the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 15, recording 10 points and four rebounds.
“He’s close to being fit. I hope to see him play a few minutes against Minnesota,” Atkinson said. “I think we’ll start him a few minutes. He’s doing a great job with our assistant coaches learning what we’re doing. We feel like we’ll be ready to play a few minutes.”
