In recent days, Manchester City have been linked with a shock move to bring the 22-year-old back to the Etihad Stadium this summer after impressing for Villa.

However, Rogers is believed to be reluctant to return to his old club after struggling to break into Pep Guardiola’s first-team.

Sources say the England international is happy at Villa Park after signing a new contract until June 2030 late last year.

Villa are reluctant to lose the attacking midfielder this summer and are keen to keep him at the club.

Rogers has scored 13 goals and provided 11 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions for Unai Emery’s side this season and has also impressed for England, making three appearances.

He moved to Villa from Middlesbrough in January last year.
