The Oranje came from behind to beat Turkey 2-1 in the Euro 2024 quarter-finals on Saturday, sending the Flying Dutchmen through to Wednesday’s semi-final against England.

After the match, the 61-year-old coach revealed that the first half of the game was full of complications because his team started well but as time passed, the opposing team took the lead first.

“It was a great performance, we started well but they (Turkey) started to defend the spaces better after the first half of the game,” Koeman told Dutch outlet NOS.

“We still played the same way, but we had to extend the play around the opponent’s area, then they started (looking for momentum in the game) and took the lead.

“England (our next opponents) have good players but we have good players too. We are in the semi-finals of the European Championship. No one expected that. If everything goes well we will play two more games.” ( wilson88 )
