“I don’t score many goals and when I do I want to celebrate, but I have a lot of respect for Chelsea. I’ve been here for five years.”

“I scored goals, but that’s not always the most important thing for me because the most important thing is to win,” Kovacic said. 

The Croatia midfielder also spoke about the heavy lifting he has had in midfield in place of the still-unfit Rodri, saying: “We are missing an important player, but it is always difficult without a player like this.”

“I played today in his role, but we also think about Rodri because he is the best player or one of the best players in the world.”
