kuiper999 Former New Orleans Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi has been tapped by the Denver Broncos to join Sean Payton’s staff.
The Denver Broncos have hired former New Orleans Saints interim head coach Darren Rizzi as their new special teams coach, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports. kuiper999
Rizzi, 54, worked as an assistant head coach and special teams coach before moving up to acting head coach after the Saints fired Dennis Allen. He went 3-5 in eight games before the Saints hired Kellen More as their new head coach and set up their own staff.
The Broncos reportedly agreed to hire Rizzi to replace Ben Kotwika as special teams coach, who was fired in January. He will reunite with Wildcats head coach Sean Payton, who previously joined the Saints’ coaching staff in 2019.
Rizzi previously worked as a special teams coach for the Miami Dolphins from 2010-2018, then as a special teams coach for the Saints from 2019-2024 before moving to the same position with the Broncos. ( kuiper999 )
