Kyler Murray has revealed he’s ready to run more in the 2025 season after a knee injury that sidelined him for the 2023 season caused him to run less last season, NFL Network reports. kuiper999
Murray said he feels better about the knee injury he suffered in 2023 and is confident it will not affect his body and allow him to play more freely in the 2025 season.
“Honestly, they said year two (after the knee injury) was the best year, and honestly, right now I feel like it’s never happened before,” Murray said. “Talking to (offensive linebackers coach) Drew (Petsing) and Izzy (quarterbacks coach Israel Wolfork), I feel like this year I can do what I want to do.”
Murray admitted that his knee has been bothering him at times in 2024 since the Week 1 game against the Buffalo Bills and it has affected him throughout the rest of the season, but the Cardinals quarterback is confident he won’t have the same problem again next season.
Feeling physically fit now, Murray is expected to use his legs more in 2025 after attempting just 4.6 carries per game, a career low, in the 2024 season.
“I feel like I have to run more next year,” Murray said. “I’m open to running more next year because it’s a weapon, you know? It’s a weapon. Like, I throw the ball out there. I throw it to James (Conner) and Trey (Benson). We’re a really good running team, so that’s a good thing.”
