Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bissotti has urged his team to be successful now, particularly winning a Super Bowl, after years of disappointment. Despite making the playoffs in six of the last seven seasons, they have yet to reach their targets.  kuiper999

‘I want to win now,’ Bissotti said. ‘I want to win with them.’ 

The Ravens are 3-6 in their past six playoff appearances, never winning more than one game during any stretch and have been eliminated three times since their first appearance. Lamar Jackson, who played well in the regular season, hasn’t had a great playoff season, going 3-5 in eight games, completing 60.6 percent of his passes for 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions. 

But Bissotti believes the two-time MVP can lead the Ravens back to their best, having won the Super Bowl 12 years ago.

“We had a chance for Lamar,” Bissotti said. “I know what we can do. I know we tried our best to put ourselves in position to win. We all deserve credit for that. That’s the only thing you can do. I hate every year you have to start over again, but you know what? This is not for the weak.”

‘I don’t just look at Lamar. I want Ronnie Stanley to do that. I want Marlon Humphrey to do that. It doesn’t stop with Lamar. I want (general manager) Eric DeCosta to do that.’ 

Bissotti, 64, has owned a majority stake in the Ravens since 2004 and understands the challenge of building a Super Bowl-winning team after a 12-year wait for success.

‘I don’t like the 12-year wait, but I respect the fact that I have a downstream partner who doesn’t have a partner yet. Impatience is good for you, I think it’s healthy to some extent, because you know we all still feel that way.’ ( kuiper999 )
