The Tennessee Titans have promoted wide receivers coach Arthur Smith to the position of offensive coordinator, replacing Matt LaFleur, who left to become head coach with the Green Bay Packers, NFL Network reported Monday. kuiper999
Smith has been on the Titans’ staff for eight years and has served as wide receivers coach for the last three seasons since stepping in for the final nine games of the 2015 season, working effectively under veteran wide receiver Delaney Walker and developing young players like Jonnu Smith.
The Titans’ offensive coordinator change will see quarterback Marcus Mariota make his fifth change of offensive coordinator in his fifth NFL season.
“Art has been a constant source of support since I’ve been in the league,” Mariota said of the Titans’ new offensive coordinator. “It’s been a true blessing to know him and I’m excited to work with him.
