In the 26th minute, Napoli had a golden opportunity to take the lead. Franck Sombu Anguissa passed to Scott McTominay who took a powerful right-footed shot, but Mile Svilar managed to push it behind.

In the second half, Napoli took a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute from a long pass to the right for Giovanni Di Lorenzo to control the ball with his chest and then dribble it back to the front of the goal for Romelu Lukaku to charge in from close range and score.

Roma almost equalised in the 66th minute, but Angelino’s cross for Artem Dovbyk unfortunately hit the crossbar.

The visitors tried to get a goal back but couldn’t do much. In the 83rd minute, Mats Hummels headed a corner kick but it was off target.

Full-time: Napoli edge out Roma 1-0 to reclaim top spot with 29 points, ahead of Atalanta, Inter Milan and Fiorentina, who all have 28 points each.
