Italian football reported Milan’s interest in Tuchel Füllkrug on Friday evening, but Sky Sport Italia and Sky Sport Deutsche Gianluca Di Marzio and Patrick Berger have confirmed that the Rossoneri have made initial contact with the striker’s representatives.

Di Marzio added that Füllkrug was slightly frustrated by Dortmund’s pursuit of Stuttgart striker Seruh Girassi, who scored 28 goals in 28 Bundesliga appearances last season.

Milan are still in the hunt for Spain captain Alvaro Morata, who is believed to be ready to pay his €13m release clause.

However, the Rossoneri are exploring other options in attack to fill the void left by Olivier Giroud after he left for MLS side LAFC on a free transfer.
