    The 21-year-old joined the White Horse from Manchester City for £20million last summer and has impressed, scoring 11 goals in the league this season, but with the team at risk of relegation, Shearer believes the club will have to accept losing their star striker, who has attracted interest from a number of teams. 

    “Liam Delap has been a standout player in a terrible season for Ipswich and it’s difficult to show that every week, but he’s one of the players who’s done that,” Shearer said.

    “Ipswich fans may not want to hear this, but it’s inevitable that he will be linked with big clubs because he’s a very talented player. The club took a risk and paid for him and the team did very well with him.”
