    Throughout his 17-year career, the England forward has played alongside some of the best players in the world, but the one he picked as the best surprised everyone when it was Alexis Sanchez.

    “Actually when I first walked into the dressing room (at Manchester United) and I was standing between Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs, I was 17 and that was the player on either side of me,” Welbeck told Sky Sports.

    “It’s amazing. You can see how quickly Ronaldo comes to training, how slowly he comes off the pitch. I haven’t played with him that much, but I’ve played with him and trained with him for a couple of times, which is special.”

    “Berbatov has extraordinary qualities and what he does is beyond imagination. I think he gets the credit he deserves. He has a quiet confidence and he says how great he is.”

    “Olivier (Giroud), I like playing with him, it’s going really well. Again, he’s not the one that gets the credit he deserves, but he’s a top centre-forward and a great attacking partner to play with.”
