mungmee168 The Green Bay Packers are ready to extend star quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ contract with the team, even though his current deal runs through the 2019 season.

The revelation from Mark Murphy, the team’s CEO, ‘Butter Head’, in an interview with ESPN during the Combine Weekend in Indianapolis that he wants the two-time MVP quarterback to stay for many more seasons at Lambeau Field.  mungmee168

“The management is talking about this right now,” Murphy began of the plan. “It’s important for all parties to get a deal that’s fair for the future of the team, the players and the management that oversees the salary cap.”

A. Rod’s current contract is the final two seasons of a five-year deal, having previously signed a $110 million deal in 2013. 

However, with the league willing to pay quarterbacks an average of $20 million per season, Rodgers’ salary has dropped to sixth place. The current highest-paid quarterback is Jimmy Garoppolo of the San Francisco 49ers, who just signed a five-year, $137.5 million contract.   ( mungmee168 )
