mungmee168 Former Chicago Bears running back Jordan Howard is set to be the Philadelphia Eagles’ ground-breaking passer next season, swapping out rookie Myles Sanders.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson is confident in his two starting running backs in 2019, Jordan Howard and rookie wide receiver Miles Sanders, based on their past performances, NFL Network reported Friday.  mungmee168

The Eagles traded Howard from the Chicago Bears in March for a sixth-round pick in the 2020 draft. The 24-year-old running back had a breakout season in his first three career games, rushing 778 times for 3,370 yards and 24 touchdowns, and caught 72 passes for 568 yards and another score before Philadelphia drafted Sanders in the second round of the draft from Penn State after he excelled in his senior year, rushing 220 times for 1,274 yards and nine touchdowns.

Pederson has Howard and Sanders as his primary running backs for the 2019 season, potentially switching with Corey Clements, Josh Adams, Boston Scott, Wendell Smallwood and Donnell Pumphrey.

“Jordan was one of the top running backs in Chicago,” Pederson said. “Then Matt Nagy came in and things changed a little bit. I won’t get into all the details there, but we were fortunate enough to bring him to Philadelphia. I’ve always liked Jordan Howard and what he’s done in his career. He’s one of the top running backs. When you look at the numbers from some of his stuff, he’s one of the top. He’s up there with some big plays, so he brings consistency. He’s big, he’s powerful and he’s a downhill runner.”

“I was excited about his opportunity here in Philadelphia and then we talked to Miles Sanders in the draft. We felt like a good fit with him. We liked everything about him, he’s a good kid and he plays a great game. He sat behind Saquon Barkley at Penn State and really learned from him and when he got his chance, he made an impact. It gives us a little bit more stability now going into the season with those two guys,” Pederson said. ( mungmee168 )
