Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Trey McBride is hoping to build a great rapport with quarterback Kyler Murray similar to his Kansas City Chiefs counterparts Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, ESPN reports. mungmee168

‘Travis, he always gives us advice about being quarterback-friendly,’ McBride said. ‘Make sure you and your quarterback are on the same page. He plays like that. He and Mahomes have a great relationship, and I took that and thought, ‘Why can’t Kyler and I have the same relationship?’

‘I feel like what I’ve tried to do, I’ve tried to have that same relationship and grow with Kyler and continue to make plays for him and be that blanket around him. If he wants to go with the ball, he can throw it to me. And that’s what I’ve tried to do for him.’

Mahomes and Kelce are a three-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and wide receiver duo, with a combined 16 Pro Bowl appearances and 72 touchdowns, including in the playoffs, which is third on the list behind Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski for the New England Patriots, who have combined for 105 touchdowns, and Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates for the Los Angeles Chargers, who have combined for 90 touchdowns. Murray and McBride have combined for just four scores. 

McBride has caught 192 passes for 1,971 yards over the last two seasons and is set to make his first Pro Bowl appearance in the 2024 season after a breakout season, catching 111 passes for 1,146 yards, the first time he has topped the 1,000-yard mark in his career. 

“I think the constant practice is doing everything I can to make sure I’m open for him,” McBride said. “The first game back from a torn ACL, not last season, but two seasons ago. The first game he came back, we had 100 yards and stuff like that in the first game he came back. I think the confidence of coming back and throwing the ball and having success with me helps build that confidence. It just keeps growing and getting better, and I love our relationship.” ( mungmee168 )
