mungmee168 The Tennessee Titans received bad news ahead of their final regular season game against the Indianapolis Colts as Pro Bowl defensive lineman Jerrell Casey was placed on injured reserve on Monday, ESPN reports.

Casey, a 29-year-old defensive end, tore a ligament in his left knee during Saturday’s game against the Washington Redskins after attempting to tackle Redskins running back Adrian Peterson in the fourth quarter, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The eight-year veteran was taken off the field and examined in the sideline medical tent.  mungmee168

Titans head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed Casey will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a knockout blow in the latest game. The 29-year-old defensive end finished the season with 62 tackles (36 solo), seven sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. 

Casey’s injury leaves Matt Dickerson or Benny Logan set to play right defensive end in Sunday’s playoff game against the Colts. 

There is some good news for the Titans, however, after quarterback Marcus Mariota was forced off the game with a finger injury unrelated to his previous elbow injury. Vrabel said Mariota is feeling better and will be tested when he returns to practice on Monday. ( mungmee168 )
