Athletic Bilbao coach Ernesto Valverde has named his squad for Sunday’s trip to Girona, with Nico Williams ruled out after the 22-year-old forward suffered a pelvic injury, Diario AS reported on Saturday.

Nico played the entirety of Thursday’s 2-0 Europa League win over Alkmaar but the 22-year-old forward will not be involved in Thursday’s trip to Girona with a pelvic injury and will be assessed to see if he is available for Spain’s Nations League games against Denmark and Serbia.

Athletic Bilbao will be without suspended Julen Aquirazbala after the Spanish Football Federation’s competitions committee rejected the 23-year-old’s appeal against a red card, so 21-year-old Mexican goalkeeper Alex Padilla will be in goal on Sunday.  ( pgzen )
