ESPN reports that the Bulls are confident Donovan is the right head coach for the future, having been with the organization for five years, recording a 195-205 record from 400 games and making the playoffs once.
He was actually a candidate for the New York Knicks’ new head coach position during the early drafts, but Donovan wants to continue building the young Chicago project.
Before taking charge of the ‘Lonely Bull’, Billy was the head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder for 5 years, with a record of 243-157, but he was not yet a star.
During his time as a college coach, he also had tangible results, leading the Florida Gators to two consecutive NCAA championships in 2006 and 2007.
