Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel expects Tua Tagovailoa to return this season after the 26-year-old quarterback was placed on injured reserve with a concussion, NFL Network reports. nuno168

“I think they’re still positive,” McDaniel said of Tagovailoa’s meeting with a neurology specialist. “There’s still information that he needs this week, and as far as I’m concerned, he’s not going to play this week, and I expect to see him play football in 2024.”

‘But we will let the process continue because we still have some time before we can consider anything. We will make sure he is focused this week and then we will assess him.’

Tagovailoa, who has a history of multiple head injuries, has sought more guidance from medical professionals and has been given time to consider his short-term and long-term future before returning to football, and McDaniel has tried to make that a central topic in all discussions surrounding the Dolphins quarterback. 

‘I think the biggest thing I’ve learned is that as a head coach I have to control what I can control, absolutely. It happened so quickly when he got injured that he said, ‘What’s best for you, Tua? Where are you?’ and let the process unfold without rushing it.’

‘I didn’t let myself think about whether he would or wouldn’t do it. I was more concerned with where he was in his career, his family, everything, and trying to take a next-gen attitude from that.’

‘It’s exciting to think he’s going to play football this year. I never thought to myself if he would or wouldn’t do it because from my experience I’ve learned that it’s not right to ask that question. The right question is the one that really asks about the human being and the player.’  ( nuno168 )
