Pep Guardiola is set to lead Manchester City into the Champions League League Phase at Ruben Amorim’s Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday after two consecutive defeats in the Carabao Cup and the latest league game at Bournemouth.

Several key players did not travel with the team to Portugal, with key defenders Ruben Dias and John Stones both out with injuries, as well as Rodri, Jack Grealish and Oscar Bobb.

Pep has therefore taken a number of young stars, including James McAteer, Jacob Wright, Jahmi Simpson-Pewsey, Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Nico O’Reilly. 

Meanwhile, Kevin De Bruyne and Savinho have been named in the squad after both were named on the bench for the trip to Bournemouth but were not included.
