San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Clay Kubiak believes Juwan Jennings is ready to return to his role as the number one wide receiver following the departure of Deebo Samuel while Brandon Aiyak continues his rehabilitation from a torn ACL, NFL Network reports. ( pgzen )
Jennings begins the 2024 season as the No. 3 wide receiver and will likely be QB Brock Purdy’s No. 5 target, along with tight ends George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey, but the 27-year-old has been impressive, catching 77 passes for 975 yards and six touchdowns.
The performance has Kubiak confident Jennings is ready to step up and become the 49ers’ number one wide receiver in the 2025 season until Aiyak recovers from his injury. “That’s his mindset, and that’s why we like Juwan,”
“He sees himself that way,” Kubiak said. “He sees himself as a standout player. I think you guys saw that he had a chance last year. He played really well, so I’m really excited about Juwan.”
