pgzen New Orleans Pelicans head coach Willie Green has provided an update on scans on forward Zion Williamson’s fractured right foot, saying that while there is no timeframe for his return, his doctor said the fracture is healing satisfactorily. pgzen

ESPN reported that Williamson has been given permission to do two to three light practices and will have a scan in two to three weeks to see if he can compete.

The 21- year- old has been undergoing treatment since late September after suffering the injury during the off-season and was initially expected to recover in time for the first part of the 2021-22 campaign , but that has not been met.  

The first overall pick in the 2019 draft class, he averaged 27 points , 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists in his second career season after a rookie season that saw him play just 24 games with a knee injury.  

The Pelicans , without Williamson, started the season with a joint-worst 1-6 record in the league , losing three straight before traveling to the Phoenix Suns.
