The LA Rams have agreed to terms with veteran running back Sony Michel on a one-year deal, after the 28-year-old played with the Rams in the 2021 season, NFL Network reported Tuesday. ( pgzen )
Michel, a former first-round draft pick in the 2018 class, spent the first three years of his career with the New England Patriots before being traded to the Rams in 2021. He has rushed 208 times for 845 yards and four touchdowns and caught 128 passes for 128 yards and one score in 17 games (starting seven).
Michel then spent the 2022 season with the LA Chargers, appearing in 10 games but not starting. He carried the ball just 36 times for 106 yards as Austin Ekeler’s backup before being released on Dec. 31, only to be re-signed by the Rams.
Michel will join Cam Akers and Kyren Williams in the Rams’ running back room, with the 28-year-old still battling to make the 53-man roster ahead of the 2023 season.
