Kyren Williams, 24, is still waiting on a contract extension with the Los Angeles Rams and is optimistic his new deal will come when the time comes, Los Angeles Times reporter Gary Klein has revealed. ( pgzen )
Williams, who is entering the final year of his rookie contract, has a base salary of $5.346 million since entering the league as a fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft class and has earned $2.748 million over his first three seasons, a small amount of money considering his value in Los Angeles after rushing for more than 1,100 yards the past two seasons and scoring a combined 26 touchdowns.
“I know it’s going to happen when the time is right,” Williams said of his new deal. “I want it to happen so I can take care of my family and the people I love who helped me get to this point.”
‘I’ve always believed in God, whether it happens now or I play until the end of the season, I know it’s going to happen eventually, so time will tell. I know I have to do what I have to do every day to make sure it happens in a good way for me.’
The Rams have selected running backs the past two years, Blake Corum in the third round of the 2024 draft and Jarquez Hunter in the fourth round of the 2025 draft, but Williams is still waiting on a new contract with the Rams.
“My only goal is to keep getting better and be happy every day and find what makes me better,” the 24-year-old running back said.
