However, Fowler has made an interesting point, saying that if the club has done everything it can to not keep all three or one of them, then it should be a case of the nature of football. “To be honest, I think it’s disappointing that we’re talking about these players staying or leaving, all with just a few months left on their contracts.”
“I want them to stay, you know, I’m speaking as a fan but you’ve got to be realistic, right? So I think if a player is going to leave then you have to think, ‘Oh, nobody is bigger than the football club, you know?’ Maybe you’re talking about the same situation last year when Jurgen [Klopp] was leaving and he was the best manager in the world.
“Then the new manager came in and the club, um, is having another great success this year, so there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, like these players, whether they stay or go, we don’t know. Of course we all want them to stay.”
“But what I will say is whoever comes and whoever goes, that’s the nature of football. But you know, whatever or whoever is in the team next year, they will have my full support,” the former ‘The God’ striker said.
