Osasuna coach Vicente Moreno is still optimistic about facing Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao as a challenge for his Rojillo side fighting for survival, Marca reported on Wednesday.
Osasuna are currently in 14th place with 33 points from 27 games, just six points above the relegation zone after Rojiillo’s side have won just once in their last 15 games, ahead of trips to Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao on Thursday and Sunday, with the 50-year-old’s first priority being survival.
“These are two important games where we have to enjoy and play well. It’s going to be tough against a team that wants to win the league and another team that wants to get into the Champions League. You have to be at your best,” Moreno said.
‘It’s a challenge for everyone to face Barcelona. What we need is to believe in ourselves. We have two strong opponents but we beat them this season. We need that confidence to continue to perform well.’
Moreno also praised Barcelona for their strength as a team and the individual qualities of their players. ‘They are a very good team, both as a team and as individuals. It is a challenge for anyone who plays against them. We have to believe in ourselves.’
