The Croatia international’s contract with Los Blancos is due to expire at the end of the season and according to reports no formal offer has been made, although he has insisted that he is in no rush to negotiate.
The Spanish media outlet reported that if Madrid decide not to renew Modric’s contract, the Qatar Stars League club is ready to pay a large salary to bring the 39-year-old player to their team.
There are currently a number of big-name players playing in Qatar, including Marco Verratti, Hakim Ziyech, Luis Alberto and Julian Draxler, as well as Modric’s former Real Madrid team-mate Joselu.
