Real Madrid have confirmed that Rudiger has ruptured a meniscus during Saturday’s Copa del Rey win and will undergo surgery, with the Germany centre-back having been struggling with a knee injury all season. The club have not given a timeframe for his recovery.

Spanish outlet AS predict that Rudiger will need around six to eight weeks to recover and there is hope that the 32-year-old centre-back will be fit in time to feature for Real Madrid at the FIFA Club World Cup, which takes place from mid-June to mid-July.
