popslot New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has been called to the Pro Bowl, replacing L.A. Rams running back Todd Gurley, who is set to play in the Super Bowl.

Running back Alvin Kamara, along with guards Andrus Peet and Larry Warford, were among the three New Orleans Saints players called to the Pro Bowl after the Saints lost in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, NFL Network reported Tuesday.  popslot

The Saints lost at home to the L.A. Rams in the NFC Championship Game 23-26 on Greg Servine’s 57-yard field goal in overtime on Sunday. 

Kamara, the 23-year-old Saints running back, was brought in to replace Todd Gurley, the Rams’ second-year running back, after the Saints’ star rusher had 194 carries for 883 yards (4.6 yards per carry) in 15 regular-season games, and caught 81 passes for 709 yards and 18 touchdowns, including 14 in the end zone. 

While Pete, a 25-year-old guard, was called up to replace injured Philadelphia Eagles guard Brandon Brooks, Warford, a 27-year-old guard, was brought in to replace Zach Martin, a Dallas Cowboys guard. It is Pete’s first Pro Bowl appearance in four years in the NFL, but the second for Warford, a six-year veteran guard.

In addition, left tackle Charles Leno Jr. and center Cody Whitehair, two Chicago Bears players, were called up to replace left tackle Terron Armstead and center Max Unger, two Saints players.  ( popslot )
