Vieira joined Arsenal from Porto in 2022 and made 33 appearances in his first season before playing a reduced role, playing just 16 times last term.

As for this new season, Vieira’s playing opportunities are unlikely to increase as Mikel Arteta is preparing to push Ethan Nwaneri, a young English player who plays in the same position, into full-time use. 

Arsenal have therefore chosen to temporarily release the Portuguese player back to play for his former club, Porto, in the Portuguese league, and the paperwork is now complete.

Vieira is set to travel to Porto on Tuesday to undergo a medical before signing a season-long loan deal for 2024/25, with no option to buy included. ( wintime999 )
