“We always do our homework before every game we play,” he said on the official website. 

“We go into every game and play an attacking game and I want to win it. Personally, I’ve played Brighton before and they have a good foot-to-foot passing game. You don’t have to say it’s a tough game.”

“They have a lot of good players, they have shown this season that they can tear their opponents apart, they are always difficult to play against.”

“Brighton have outstanding players up front and strong attacking ability. They have to find a way to play their own game so that their opponents can’t exploit their strengths.”

In terms of defending the position, the English players said that the ‘Reds’ are focused because the team wants to win every championship. 

“We go into every competition with the aim of winning it all – the same target as last season,” the Liverpool native added. 

“It’s a pity that we only got close, but it’s like adding fuel to our fire to keep fighting and pushing forward.”

“The Carabao Cup is the first competition that I can win, so I think it would be a good start if I can defend the title.”
