Miguel Angel Sorio, one of Peter Lim’s long-time opponents, told Relevo on Friday that Valencia’s major shareholders Meriton Holding and Lim are being investigated for money laundering, corruption and forgery.  ( thaisiambet ) 

Sorio revealed that Meriton Holding received around €23 million between 2022 and 2023, without any clear evidence of the source of the money, divided into €17.2 million in 2022 and a further €6.147 million in 2023. In addition, the Bats made another €3 million from the Chinese Bazaar in the first 6 months of 2023, which Sorio believes is also suspicious. 

However, Valencia have not commented publicly on the matter, but have confirmed that both La Liga and their auditors have been reviewing their financial statements for the past two years and it would be difficult to make any false statements. 

Over the years, Sorio has been one of the leaders of Bats fans who have tried to oust Peter Lim from the club and has waged a long-running campaign to get the Singaporean billionaire to sell the team, but has so far failed.
