Robin van Persie, Feyenoord’s new manager, has revealed that former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has wished him well in his new role.

Van Persie left Heerenveen to take charge of his former club Feyenoord on February 23, signing a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season. 

The former Netherlands international, who played for Arsenal, Manchester United and Fenerbahce, has revealed that former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has wished him well in his new job.

“Wenger congratulated me and wished me well. I think it’s a beautiful thing. Wenger is like a father figure to me in football. That’s how I see him,” Van Persie said. 

In addition to leading the team in the league to compete for the league championship this season, another important mission of Van Persie with Feyenoord is to lead the team to compete in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, where they were drawn to meet Inter Milan.
