kuiper999 The world of football is sad again as Fiorentina CEO Joe Barone has died of sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 57.

Barone was sick last Sunday. While staying at the team’s hotel before Fiorentina’s game away to Atalanta, shortly before being taken to a hospital in Milan. Meanwhile, the said match had to be postponed. kuiper999

Fiorentina recently confirmed that Joe Barone passed away at the age of 57 at San Raffaele Hospital on Thursday.  ( kuiper999 )

Barone was born in Italy but grew up in New York, USA, before playing a key management role at Fiorentina alongside chairman Rocco Commisso, who took over the club in 2019.

Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA and Serie A, both issued statements expressing their condolences over the passing of Joe Barone. 

The game between Atalanta and Fiorentina has not yet been rescheduled. While the program after the national break, the Viola team will play at home against AC Milan on March 30.
