The Washington Commanders have agreed to a two-year, nearly $5 million extension with kicker Joey Slai, 26, including $2 million guaranteed, NFL Network reported Sunday.

He entered the league undrafted in 2018 by the New York Giants before being released by the team just three days after signing. He then played with the Carolina Panthers in 2019-20, before playing with the Houston Texans, San Francisco 49ers and Washington in 2021, before becoming a restricted free agent for $2.4 million in 2022. That allowed him to negotiate with other teams for a new deal.
