“There are so many messages coming in, and nine out of 10 of them are similar, but they all come from great minds,” Schlot said.

“I try to tell them all, it’s amazing, especially on Sunday, especially for the Liverpool fans, it’s going to be one of the best days of their lives and for me, seeing how much it means to our fans and players, it’s really special to be a part of it.

“The most famous person who texted me? I think it was Jurgen! What did he say? Congratulations. Now I know how special this club is, I am part of the history, all this stuff. I am so happy for the fans and the club.”
