33-year-old left tackle Tyron Smith needs a new contract to return to the Dallas Cowboys for the 2024 season, as he is set to become a free agent in mid-March, according to a report from Dallas. Lalas Morning News’ last Monday  betflikth99

Smith is the longest-serving player with the Cowboys since being the No. 9 pick in the 2011 class. He has no plans to retire and is now seeking a new deal to stay in Dallas next season. Although he has been dealing with injuries recently, missing 23 games over the last three seasons.  ( betflikth99 )

Meanwhile, the Cowboys prepared their long-term plan by selecting Tyler Smith from the first round of the 2022 draft, and he has started all but the final three games over the past two seasons. Theoretically, he will move to left tackle when Tyron Smith’s contract expires. 

Tyron Smith signed an eight-year, nearly $100 million deal with the Cowboys in 2016. It’s unclear how long a new deal will last, but head coach Mike Mae Carthy has previously confirmed he is happy the 33-year-old offensive tackle will stay in Dallas. 

‘I think the biggest thing for Tyron is to talk about the trajectory of the season and the training that’s available to him. This is clearly his best season I’ve had since 2020.’ McCarthy Said earlier, ‘So he feels good about that. I think the fact that he didn’t go into the off-season with surgery is a plus. We will continue to talk as we move forward.’
