The Cowboys are entering their 30th season since their last Lombardi Trophy win and their 10th without advancing past the divisional playoffs, and Prescott remains focused on bringing a Super Bowl title to Dallas in the near future.
“I want to win championships,” Prescott said. “The legacy and things and whatever happens after I retire will take care of itself. I want to win championships, whether it’s for my legacy, for this team, for my identity, for my mental health. The legacy will take care of itself. I’ve got to stay where I am.”
The Cowboys will begin the 2025 season under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who previously served as offensive coordinator in 2023-24, so he has some familiarity with the team, and Prescott hopes he and his teammates are on the same page for the big task ahead.
“It starts with the personnel,” Prescott added. “The changes we’ve made and not just on offense but defense, bringing people in. Obviously George (Pickens) has opened up a lot of opportunities for other wide receivers (along with CeeDee Lamb), I think it just gives them a safety net to go out there and do their thing, play freely and make a big leap. Players like (Jonathan) Mingo and (Jalen) Tolbert and the way the running backs are approaching this, I’m really excited about that.”
