Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Grant Udinski is eager to work with former 2021 draft pick Trevor Lawrence, who is set to enter his fifth season as the Jaguars’ lone wide receiver, NFL Network reports. sqgame555
Former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator and quarterbacks assistant coach Udinski has been brought in to be the Jaguars’ offensive coordinator under new head coach Liam Cohen, and the 29-year-old is looking forward to working with the 25-year-old quarterback.
“I’m very excited to be working with Trevor,” Udinski said. “As I said about Liam, it’s probably the same with Trevor. I don’t have enough words to describe how excited I am about the opportunity to work with him. Relationships take time. Not only do I have to get to know him, but he has to get to know me. This is a collaborative process. There’s no dictatorship or anything like that in this business or on our team.”
Lawrence played in just 10 games in the 2024 season, a career-low, as he dealt with a shoulder injury and a concussion in Week 13 after a foul on Houston Texans linebacker Aziz Al-Shaair, which sent the 25-year-old quarterback to injured reserve and did not play again.
“There are a lot of things that stand out, again, the physical talent that you can see,” Udinsky said of Lawrence. “The most exciting thing for me is the guy and the person, because I started to build that relationship, because as I said, the quarterback position is still played by one person.”
‘It’s still a human being standing there and trying to find a way in a tight space and attacking, dodging and dealing with 10 other players in a group, 11 in defence, and making quick decisions.’
