Wood had announced in January that he would not play football for long because his body was battered, especially his neck, which was considered dangerous and could cause serious injuries to his spine, leading to paralysis.  sudpung168

With one year left on his contract, the ‘Wild Buffalo’ chose to release him before June 1st, showing the organization’s spirit by giving the player his final payday of $4.8 million in salary and a $4.3 million signing bonus, totaling more than $9.1 million, which will be included in the 2018 salary cap. 

The former 2009 first-round draft pick has been a regular for the team for over nine years, and at 32 years old, he just led the team to the playoffs last season. ( sudpung168 )
